It's 10:51 at night, about 15 minutes ago I was out in the rain searching for night crawlers. It was cold out but sure beats paying $3.00 for a dozen. I found close to 2 dozen. Mia and Joshua stood on the porch pointing them out saying "I found one momma, I found one" This adventure started out as sitting on the porch watching and listening to the rain fall.

The kids and I went to South Side to carve a family pumpkin this evening. They enjoyed talking to their friends about their costumes and eating a snack & drink. In the meantime I spent about 25 minutes cleaning and carving our family pumpkin. It was fine with me, especially since I noticed that many parents were doing the same thing. The girls had fun so that's the only thing that matters.

Mia wasn't certain about exploring the fire truck, until she heard the other kids on the opposite side giggling. It was a good learning experience for the kids. They really payed close attention even though 4 year olds have a little trouble listening at times.

Here is Mia practicing "STOP, DROP AND ROLL" one of the drills the firefighters taught Mia's class. Firefighters talked to kids about not being affraid if a firefighter approaches or calls out their name in attempt to help them if there's ever a fire at their home.

Here is Mia on her 1st day of school. She started Headstart on the 8th but I haven't had time to update my blog. Mia was good and ready to be back. She was especially glad to reunite with her friends.

Elisa likes to brag about me all the time, but she too has been staying very busy. In fact, this has been one of her busiest months so far. She has already sold four cakes this month, with one more coming up next week. As busy as she has been, she still made time to bake her mom a cake for her birthday and hopefully (fingers crossed) a tres leches cake for me on my birthday...hint, hint... Great Job Elisa, I am very proud of you.

Trace Adkins and Cohesion

I know it's not a good picture but you "can" see Buck on the left singing along with the rest of the group and of course Trace Adkins, one of country music favorite singer. It was an unbeliveable event according to Buck. Even as he was standing on stage staring at the crowd; he couldn't believe he was actually there singing with "TRACE ADKINS". The feeling was mutual. The view from where we were standing was amazing. I yelled "Way to go Buck, Way to go Cohesion!" I mean of course we loved Trace but in reality I was there to see Buck perform.

4th of July Celebration

I found this cake over the internet and decided I could duplicate it for our barbecue at the church. I enjoyed baking and decorating it. I couldn't believe how simple it was. The hardest part was trying to keep Joshua away from it. He kept trying to lick the frosting off.

Here is Joshua mesmerized by the sparkles. We spent the 4th with our church family. Pastor Juan and some of the men cooked alot of food. We had rib eyes, pork ribs, venison, hamburgers, hotdogs, hot wings, and I'm sure I'm missing alot more. Shortly after eating we enjoyed an amazing firework display sponsored by one of our local grocery store owners. It seems like every year it lasts longer and ends with a bigger blast than the year before. We hope your 4th was just as fun as ours.

Another baseball season ends once again. Here is Kendra with not only her dad but her coach. After the game on Monday, we drove down to Pizza Hut and enjoyed a great meal along with all the team of kids and coaches, team mom and some parents. Buck also surprised the kids with their own medal. Even though coach pitch is still a learning league, Buck felt like showing his appreciation to the kids for their hard work.

Father's Day 2009

After a long hour setting Buck's new tent up, I was able to take a picture of Buck beside it. The tent sat in it's bag for a month because of the rain. Everytime his days off came along it rained. The whole family spend the night in it last night, we watched a movie, until we all fell asleep. It was fun, we had never camped out in a tent ever, except for Buck. The girls loved it so we are sleeping in it again tonight.

My little baby boy turned 2 years June 1st. We had his birthday party yesterday. Here are some pictures of his party. Of course it was raining and cold so we had to be inside through out the whole thing. His party started at 3pm and he decided to take a nap around 4pm, so we placed everything on hold until he was ready and refreshed. 2 hours later the party resumed as scheduled. I guess we just have to expect anything with little ones. He had fun playing with his cousins and enjoying his new toys. Can't wait til next year.

A Camping we will go

On Memorial Day weekend we drove up to one of the Wind River campsites to spend the night and have some bonding time with Pastor and his family. We build a fire, ate good food and enjoyed each other's company. We went home the next day due to bad weather. It was cold, windy and the rain didn't die down until after we packed up to come home, but we have more weekends to come and I'm sure we'll have a great time as we did this weekend.

After a long 2 years of begging and pleading I finally have the love of my life. Well the other love of my life. What do you think? She's sweet right? I agree!!! I really didn't think I would ever own one, but I have a wonderful husband. Thank you Buck!!!:) I need to name her though, Isai thanks for the idea. I'm still brainstorming. I've already put her to good use. I made a Mexican chocolate cake with homemade frosting. "Yummo!" like Racheal Ray says. Baking and cake decorating have always been a passion of mine and owning my very own Kitchen Aide makes the experience so much sweeter. I'm no longer jealous.

My dad and I he just celebrated his 63rd birthday on February 13th.

Well after so long I need to share some things that have happened. I feel sometimes I bury my feelings under the "I'm tough enough to handle anything" but on Thursday January 29th I recieved a phone call from my brother Isai saying that my dad was in the hospital after experiencing a little itty bitty heart attack. I was totally not expecting those words to ever come out of any of my family members. I guess he didn't want to upset me because what is an itty bitty heart attack? After sharing with Buck what was going on, I never ever felt so paniced, desperate, and a little alone. The thought of being fatherless took over my thoughts and emotions I didn't know what to do. I know that part of life is death but I just couldn't believe that "I" was experiencing this now. I felt helpless and determined to see my dad immediately. But in the back of my mind I kept hearing calm down. I called the airlines to see if there was any flights out in the next couple of hours, but living in a small town, where the airports closes at 5 or 6 I didn't have a way to get to him right away. By this time the word was that my dad was in really bad shape. After doing some extensive tests, it was discovered that all of his main arteries to his heart were blocked. The chances of him having a massive heart attack and ending his life were very pretty high. I cried all night and couldn't sleep because I kept having episodes of what if's and I should have's. There was so much disbelief, so I kept calling the hospital to hear his voice and the need to hear him say my nickname as often as possible. I was able to compose myself and gather enough strength to ask for forgiveness. I told him that for a long time I had been angry at him for various reasons. I wanted to make sure that he knew I loved him and I asked him not to worry about us. Let me tell you, having so much unforgiveness inside is the worst emotion to have to live with. I felt so light, funny uh since I weigh a ton. Anyway, half way through our trip to Houston, JJ my other brother called my cell and said that his bypass went so well, the doctors decided to unblock the other two arteries. See his chances were so slim that he was suppose to have bypass surgery with many risks but the doctors were convinced that he could handle a triple bypass during the procedure. A 4 hour surgery was over in an hour & a half. I prayed and thanked God like I had never ever thanked him. That little voice in the back of my mind telling me to calm down I believe now was God. Telling me this is just a wake up call for all of us. It's not his time yet. The night before I had prepared myself to go see my dad not alive but to make preparations with my family for his funeral. I had my doubts that's the honest truth. But God is merciful. Well I don't know how to end this except with one thought. Trust on who should be trusted. Trust with all your might. I DO!

Girl Scouts Father Daughter Dance

Oh how sweet. I love this picture. Kendra decided to skip bowling for Girl Scouts this year. Last night Girl Scout Leaders hosted a Father/Daughter Dance for all participants and their dads. Buck had to work but clocked out early to be part of this event. Buck said that after 2 songs all the girls ditched their dads and they danced with each other. Many dads including Buck felt a little uncomfortable while they danced since most of them can't move to a single beat. Now that's dedication to their little girls. They made an effort and danced but they ended up standing around watching as the girls showed off on the dance floor. I'm sure this was the perfect time for all the fathers to meet and reminisce. The night ended with some beverages and snacks. Although the event was a couple of hours long, Kendra enjoyed every bit of her special night out with her dad. Appointement in Salt Lake

Saturday, November 8 we traveled to Utah for Joshua's appointment at Schrinners Hospital for kids. As you all know Joshua was born with clubfeet. On foot needed further attention so we made a special trip to Salt Lake for that need. Everything is okay. He will not have surgery at this time. He has to wear a brace during the night and is to wear his everyday shoes backwards. To all you mothers, I think we can agree that we spend countless weeks, maybe months teaching our kids to wear clothing and shoes appropriately, but in Joshua's case he must wear them on the wrong foot. The reason for that is it helps straighten his left foot since it bends inward. Anyway, his appointment was on Monday but we made plans to spend a short weekend with his family. Whom by the way sure like to have fun. Bella is quiet a character. She doesn't like to sleep and tried very hard to keep us awake. We ate lots of food, sang karoake and Jonathan took us around to do a little sight seeing. Buck and I wished we had more time but the main reason for the trip was for Joshua. After spending some time in Salt Lake I definitely agree to another trip. LONGER TRIP. Kendra Mia and myself really enjoyed this experience. Can't wait to go back.

Buck the kids and I treated Sally to a nice lunch at the Buffalo Rose today. For those of you who didn't remember it is Sally's Fifty something birthday today. I better not say the exact number. Just to be on the safe side. We had a good church service this morning and after church Buck decided to take her somewhere special. It was a great choice. Hope you had a wonderful Birthday today Sally. We love you lots.

Denver Broncos

Buck along with a cousin and a friend of his made a special trip to Denver this past weekend to watch in person, the Denver Broncos first football home game for this season. Yep, football season has arrived once more. It sure was a long weekend for the girls and I but we survived and so did Buck especially since the Broncos won the game 39-38. Very close game! They won with seconds on the clock. It was only the first game so we shall see how well they play throughout the season. Please I do not favor the Broncos, I just support Buck's mistakes, because that's what wives do. Right! I am a Cowboy fan. Romo has my heart. Go Boys!!!!

Well who said beauty last for ever? Ah, little joke Buck. You still look good. We celebrated Buck's birthday on Tuesday. He says he had no idea we were planning a party for him, but he's sneaky, I know he found out somehow. Anyway, here he is holding his birthday cake. Thanks to my mother-in-law who purchased and prepared all the food. And thank you pastor for grilling the burgers and the hotdogs. We had a fun time.

Baseball 2008

Kendra had her last baseball game last night, ending this years baseball season. She had lots of fun and she can't wait for next year. Tammi was their coach. Buck and Shawn, Tammi's brother (not in the picture) were assistant coaches. They made it enjoyable for the kids to learn without giving up on themselves.

Every player had an apportunity to play each field position. Here is Kendra gearing up for the catcher position during her first game.

Once the game was over, they each recieved a special treat. These delicious sugar cookies made their experience extra special. We are proud of them for trying their best, and this was our way to congratulate them. (: Go Cardinals!!! :)

Bueno aqui estamos celebrando este evento tan feliz. Joshua turned a year old today. We spent hours at the park laughing, eating and having great conversation with family and friends. For those of you who helped in any way, a big THANKS TO YOU.

It's hard to believe that a year has passed by already. Our kids are growing way to fast for us. Joshua is just days away from walking on his own, Mia will be starting pre-school in the fall and Kendra will be entering the 2nd grade. It seems like just a short time ago when we couldn't even ponder the idea of having kids and becoming parents. It certainly has been a life changing experience with many more suprises in store for us I'm sure. Nevertheless, we are so blessed and thank God for sending us this little prince Joshua. Happy Birthday Son!

Joshua wasn't the only one to have a 1st time experience. Mia is very observant and payed careful attention to the kids while practicing their swing and hitting the ball. When it was time for them to go to the field and learn how to catch Mia took advantage of this time and practiced on her own. She knew the basics, holding the bat and swinging but funny thing is she did a lot better at the swinging and actually having contact with the ball than the older kids. She was so excited when she hit the ball. I have video of that too.

Great news, great news, Joshua is one step further to walking. While we watched Kendra during baseball practice Tuesday afternoon, Selena a little girl from our church was playing with Joshua and assisted him on standing all by himself for the first time. Of course me thrilled to death about his experience, snapped a picture of him before he dropped his bottom to the grass. I felt this was one of those joyous moments that have to be shared with everyone.

Mother's Day

Buck just simply out did himself. Don't they look luscious. Well they were. I just wished and prayed it was Mother's Day every day, every day. He prepared everything for Sally and I. Special indeed it was. He even baked a chocolate buttermilk pie topped with ice cream. I don't have a picture of that but believe me, there was absolutely, not even a crumb left. In all seriousness, I want to express my deep appreciation to Buck. After working 14 hours on Saturday, he came home baked the pie as soon as he got home at 10:00 pm, stayed up til 2am to bake and make sure the pie was completely cool before refrigerating it. Then he woke up at 7am to get ready for church @ 8am. We came back around 10:00, he started preparing the side dishes and continued on with rubbing the ribs with the seasoning finishing up with some BBQ sauce. By 2:00 he placed the ribs in the oven and had everything ready by 5:00 which was the time set for dinner. He cleaned up the kitchen and was finally able to take a quick cat nap at 7:00 pm. He was up a little before 8pm to say good night to Kendra and he still found time to sit, relax while we talked a little about the meal, conversation during dinner, the kids and their individual personalities. It is now 10:30pm and I am sitting here typing away with tears running down my cheeks asking myself how very fortunate, lucky, blessed I am to have said the right words, glanced in his direction enough to catch his attention, and to finally say "I love You So!" Be here with three amazing kids and make not a single change throughout our 11 1/2 years of marriage if I had the chance to. "Deep Sigh" I can't thank Buck enough ever for his humbleness, devotion, faithfulness, his ever lasting love for me. I have everything I've ever wanted. That's all I need.

Dinosaur Museum Adventure

Kendra and her 1st grade class had an adventurous trip to the Dinosaur Museum in Thermopolis last week. They were especially excited since one of their parents came along as chaperons. Each student had a list of Dinosaur findings to search through out the museum. Buck was a little teary eyed just watching his baby girl having fun with friends and realizing that soon we also will have new adventures the older she gets and the more independent she becomes.

For weeks now I've hearing a voice speak to me and it seems like the voice keeps getting louder. There comes a time when the voice is so clear and everything it says makes sense but I just don't know where to begin to accept that my purpose is much greater than a wife, mom, sister, & friend. My judgement about pretty much everything has been interrupted by negativity. I've been a funk for a while and I don't want to feel this way anymore. I know that God has a way to reach out in the most unlikely way sometimes. This voice has been softening my heart, it's been making feel like forgiveness has to begins with "ME". I never really knew what it meant to forgive, that has always been a very hard act for me. Watching someone in our family go through some tough times made me realize that I'm just like this person in a way. Looking for a break in life. Buck and I have been through alot these past 6 years we've lost track of the one who can help us through anything. Gosh it seems like I can't type fast enough, I have alot to say and my mind is racing, but I'm going to stop here.
I ask for a special prayer for Buck myself and our kids. Sometimes a simple word of encouragement goes a very long way.

Quick Yard Sale

Have you ever had a 1 & 1/2 hour yard sale? Well I never had, but my sister was all pumped up and ready to have a 2 day yard sale. Once 2:30 came around she said, "Let's pack it up finish this tomorrow." I just looked at her and said "WHAT?" you started about an hour ago. Apparently she woke up really early this morning to price her belongings and felt like taking a nap. Wao, I was tickled. So I guess we will continue the sale tomorrow. She spent more time placing everything in a nice and organized manner on the tables and the driveway, but that's okay, it's your yard sale Idalia.

Pre Halloween Family Fun

Yep here we go with all the holiday gatherings & parties once again. I don't know about you but it sure seems like every year comes around really fast. Here we are at Kendra's school during Halloween Family Fun Night. The school makes a great effort in involving families during the holidays by inviting everyone to join and participate in what they call Family Fun Night (depending on the holiday). We all took turns in cleaning and carving a pumpkin while we listened to scary music and enjoyed some drinks and treats. Kendra was dressed up as Juliet this year and as for Mia she was a mini version of Didi from the Doodlebops. For all you single people out there, this is one of many events you will one day be enjoying with your own children. We had alot of fun. Kendra also had her own front page spotlight in the local paper during this event. Be safe and happy Halloween everyone.

Meeting Mrs Amercia

What are the chances on meeting Mrs Wyoming during a local event and suddenly she wins the crown and becomes Mrs Amercia. Kendra was pretty happy to know that she met and took a picture with Kelly McBee before she a nation wide celebrity. Kendra had the opportunity to get her nails painted by Kelly during the annual Culture Festival just one month prior to the Mrs. America pageant.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Well it is that time of year...already! Kendra started her first day of school today. I can't believe that she is in the 1st grade already. She was very excited and anxious to return to school. She was very happy when her teacher (Mrs. Feather) called her at home the weekend before to see if she had any questions and told to her that she already had Kendra's desk picked out for her. Her own desk...Big kid now!!!

The air is beginning to cool...well at night time anyway, which means fall is quickly approaching. I love fall, it brings my beautiful wife's birthday, our anniversary and hopefully a good hunting and fishing trip. Before we know it, we will be giving thanks and opening gifts as the Holiday season is just around the corner.

This has been a great year to give thanks, as we have been blessed with wonderful friends, beautiful children and a place to call home. So long for now.

BASEBALL SEASON COMING TO AN END

Well Kendra and I have one more game to go and we will wrap up our 2007 baseball season. This year we were the Florida Marlins with eight girls and three boys. Believe it or not, the girls are much easier to coach then the boys. We had a great time, Kendra's skills are improving nearly every game and of course, she loves the social time. We are going to wrap our season with a BBQ party and water balloon fight on Thursday night. Special thanks are in order to my buddy Shawn for helping me coach this season. What a true friend, thanks Shawn.

Yesterday we took the girls to the Boisen State Park for an all day Fishing for Kids. Every year Game and Fish open the park to the public at no charge for one daily visit. Kendra was having fun until she got a snag and thought there was just no fish around her area. Mia enjoyed realing in her fishing line even though she had no bait or hook for that matter, but she was fishing alright. Since Buck still has a Texas driver's license mom had to help the girls out. Well in my effort to be supportive, I had no choice but to do a little fishing myself. I became too excited when a fish hooked on to my line, I was like the little boy from the Christmas story, Ralphy. He was trying so hard to figure out the secret passage from his favorite radio show "Little Orphan Annie". Anyway, as the fish fought hard to escape, I realed and realed until all of the sudden the line snapped and the bobber ricocheted hitting my face on the right side of my sun glasses. It was a good thing I was wearing sunglasses other wise, Buck would have a lot of explaining as to why I had a black eye. We had a fun day outdoors and even though we came home empty handed we enjoyed our time together.

Can you believe that Easter has already come and gone? Soon we will be Christmas shopping. Here are some pics of the girls in there beautiful Easter dresses (thanks Tia Idalia). The girls had a great time opening their baskets of goodies and searching for eggs at the annual egg hunt at the Baseball Park. We enjoyed a nice Easter dinner at Ram's Horn (thanks grandma) followed by some play time at the girls' favorite spot in town...Sanders Park. We sure hope that all of our Family and Friends had a Happy and Blessed Easter as well.

TRIP TO NEW YORK

God has certainly blessed us in 2006 and what better way to end the year then to spend a week in New York City!!! Thanks to all the folks and beautiful program of N.H.S.A. (National Head Start Association) Elisa and I were awarded the opportunity to attend the Nationl Parents Conference In New York City (all expenses paid). Along with attending various parent trainings, we were able to tour the city and see all the famous sites. New York truly is breath-taking. Can you believe us country folk actually came out on TV on the Today Show? We stood in line for over two hours for two seconds of fame. It was worth it!!! The whole experience was awesome and a great way to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary as well.

ANNIVERSARY SUPRISE

After ten years we are still getting suprises. Two days before our anniversary, we found out that next year there will be one more pumpkin added to the harvest scene at the Garcia home. MIA'S DEDICATION

We dedicated Mia on the 19th of March. There's no other way to assure God's protection over our children than to dedicate their lives to the Lord. Mia's dress came all the way from Houston, Texas. Papi and mami bought the dress that Kendra thought was for Mia's wedding. Kids surely say the darnest things. Mia will be 1 year tomorrow.

Well it has come and gone and hear we sit in what I expect to be a wonderful new year 2006!!! I pray that all of you had a blessed and happy Holiday Season. I am anticipating a better and more blessed year in 2006. Already we have many things to be thankful for. God provided a 3 bedroom house for us to move into and many friends that helped us move in. I would really like to thank Terri, Chris, Matt, and Jake for helping us move our things from the apartment to the new house. You all are such a blessing. And of course, we definitely couldn't have done any of that with out the trucks and trailers that were provided to us. Thank you Rondo, Mike and Celiela for your help as well. You too, have been a blessing to us. Pastor Tom and Dianne blessed us with painting supplies (enough to do every room in the house). WOW, it's only January and already God has blessed us more then we could have asked for. Thank you so much everybody and I pray God blesses you more then you can imagine.

WATER WALL

Here is a pic of Kendra and I at the water wall in Houston Texas. The wall is totally cool. If you look straight up to the top of it, it would make you feel real dizzy (I did it a couple times just for fun). This was one of many retreats to the water wall. Two reasons why... #1 - it is free and #2 - it is the only cool (temp wise) outside place to visit in Houston. Have a great day all. Only 3 days to Christmas!!!

Well folks the shopping days are coming to an end and soon St. Nick will be here. Of course Kendra thinks he is already on his way because it is such a long trip from the North Pole. Can you tell she has done some traveling lately? The girls went to see Santa this year and Kendra only asked for a pink bike. She is so confident that he is going to come through for her, that she didn't even need a back up plan. Mia just wanted to pull on that white fuzzy stuff on Santa's chin. She's pretty easy to please. Well folks we sure hope that you all have a wonderful and very blessed Christmas and don't forget that Santa brings some cool gifts but only Jesus Christ gives the everlasting gift. I've decided to join the new wave of technology and thought this might be an excellent way of updating you all on what is taking place in the life of the Garcia's. Believe me, there is never a dull moment.
Above are what I consider our biggest blessing ever. Kendra Rose who will be turning 5 in January and Mia Sunshine who will be turning 9 months on Christmas day. They have definetly changed our lives for the better.
